A Little About Ian - The Early Years

Here's a little about my Scotsman Ian.

Well not much is known about his birth and past family. In fact he suffered from amnesia and didn't know who his family was and where he came from. All he knew was that he was fourteen and his name was Ian when he met Gabrielle. To be honest their first encounter didn't go so well with Ian being confused and scared but when he met Gabby she was the only one who gave a damn about him when she saw him wondering the streets like he was on another world. The seventeen year old took him back to her home and looked after him for a while thinking she could drop him at the nearest orphanage. But over time they grew a sort of brother and sister like bond and she decided to look after him permanently. Ian was ecstatic when she decided this because he was happy to have someone like her, the only one to actually care for him at a very bad time and he is forever grateful.

A few months later everything was well and fine until Ian started to feel very weak in the bones until Gabby playfully shoved him a little too hard and he fell ending with a badly broken arm. When she took him to the hospital it was then they discovered that he had a condition that weakened the bone structure making him vulnerable to easily broken bone. Thankfully, since it was the early stages of this conditions that was easily treated... for the right amount of money. Gabby felt so guilty for breaking his arm that she almost couldn't forgive her for what she done so she was determined to get him this treatment. This meant that she had to do something she thought she wouldn't have to do but it was the only thing she knew was an easy way to get money. So she did what she did and got his treatment and in a couple of weeks he was already feeling better but his treatment didn't just include a drug, but an exosuit.

Since the drug required him not to break any of his bones in the process they decided to hook him up in his own exosuit to prevent broken bones outdoors. He thought he looked pretty cool looking like some cyborg super soldier but was confused to why he wasn't seeing Gabby as often at night before he broke his bones. So when he was bored in the house by himself he would always complain to himself about how the suit made him walk so stiffly and robotic like and he hated it. So much so that he 'borrowed' the neighbor's toolkit and started messing around with the suit. He researched all through the night to find a solution to his problem and used any scrap he could find to create the pieces he needed. Much to his surprised, he actually did it. He was gobsmacked by this sudden talent of understanding and fixing exosuits appearing from nowhere and it only peaked his interest even more.

A year later and now almost all of the time he either spending time with Gabby eating cookies or tinkering with his suit, constantly upgrading it, finding out new things to try and build onto his exosuit. However, this hobby got in the way of his school academics and will in the future he doesn't really have official qualifications to try and get any job exosuit/ machine related. At the time Gabby found his interest rather adorable and would constantly use his exosuit to her advantage, making him run to the shops to get bread since the exosuit increased his running speed, making him carry heavy items or in this case her.
